“Friends of the Bristol Peña!

Dear Peña Supporter

        As many of you know, running events for you can be a nail-biting affair. We usually run Peñas at a very atmospheric, but expensive venue. We invite groups to perform, usually from London or from Andalucia, who charge a lot for their performance. We usually only break even at 58 tickets, in a venue that is completely full at 70. We can be quite full and still barely break even.It is often difficult to fill that last twelve seats, however brilliant the visiting performers, however good the Sangria and Tapas....

We have resisted increasing our prices, and have kept them the same for the last two years. We have, over that period, due to the co-operating and supportive efforts of members, managed to cover our costs but have not been able to build up the security of a reserve. For this reason we are inviting all Flamenco enthusiasts to become “Friends” by paying £12 annually, in return for:

1.  £2 off your ticket at each event.

2.  A table or seat of your choice reserved for you at time of booking

3.  Your name appearing on the programme along with the names of other “Friends”, (unless you ask us not to do so).

4.  Complimentary additional Sangria, on production of your “Friends” membership card

In addition to what you must admit is a “good deal”, you will be giving us is a financial reserve to help us survive any fluctuation in ticket sales and attendance, plus the confidence to continue to book the best Flamenco acts available.

The Working Party also decided to increase the cost of tickets for Professional performances from £18 to £20. Of course, become a “Friend” and your discount will mean that your ticket remains the same!
