3 Workshops starting Sunday, March 25th, followed by April 29^th and finally June 11^th 2012.

All workshops with live flamenco guitar accompaniment.

Juan Antonio Peréz

Dancer, teacher, director and choreographer.

Juan Antonio started dancing at the age of 8. When he enrolled at the Academy of Music and Dance in Malaga, aged 17, he already had 3 years of studies at professional level behind him. There, he was taught by ‘La Lupi’, with whom he continued to study for many years. In addition to this, he sought out other professional flamencos, such as Rafael Amargo, Rafael de Carmen, Juana Amaya, Antonio El Pipa, Juan Andres Maya and Rafael Campallo. He has also spent 6 months in Madrid honing dance, choreographic and technical skills with the Paco Mora Company, which was directed by the maestro ‘El Guito’.

In 1992 Juan Antonio started teaching and formed his own flamenco company, ’Flamenco Azabache’, choreographing and directing numerous professional and student shows.

Since 2005 he has been teaching in Fuengirola, where ‘The Azabache School of Flamenco’ takes students from beginners to advanced levels in flamenco dance, singing and guitar as well as other forms of music and dance.

Level 1 ( Beginners / Improvers) 10.30-11.30 Technique (1 hour)

Level 2 ( Improvers / Intermediate) 11.45- 2.00 Choreography ( 2 hours)

Shortly after each session you will receive through the post a DVD of the workshop you attended at no additional cost to you. It is for your use only, to support your learning. If there is any breach of this, teachers will not agree to have their choreographies recorded and everyone will be the loser.
